MECHIRAT CHAMETZ / SELLING OF CHAMETZ 2025

All Chametz not destroyed must be given as a gift or must be sold to a non-Jew. The Rabbi is appointed as an agent of the seller of the Chametz to sell it to a non-Jew. This procedure is not a legal fiction but a true sale in accordance with Talmudic and Secular Law.

It is recommended that the form be handed in to Rabbi Shlomo Katz. If you cannot return it personally, please fill out the form online.

Chametz sales forms must be completed and returned by
Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 12:00 pm

When selling your chametz, the custom of providing donations for the purchase of Passover foods for the poor can be fulfilled by submitting this form.

DELEGATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY FOR SALE OF CHAMETZ

Know ye that I, the undersigned, fully empower and permit Rabbi Shlomo Katz, and anyone he may subsequently authorize, to act in my place and stead, and on my behalf, to sell all chametz possessed by me (knowingly or unknowingly) as defined by the Torah and Rabbinic Law e.g., chametz, doubt of chametz and chametz on utensils. And to lease all places wherein chametz owned by me may be found, especially in the premises located at:
Rabbi Shlomo Katz has the full right to sell and to lease by transaction, as he deems fit and proper, and for such time which he believes necessary, in accordance with all terms and detailed forms as explained in the general authorization contract which has been given this year to Rabbi Shlomo Katz to sell my chametz.

This general authorization is made a part of the agreement. Also, I do hereby give Shlomo Katz full power and authority to appoint a substitute in his stead with full power to sell my Chametz and to lease the chametz locations, as provided herein. The above given power is in conformity with all Torah Rabbinical regulations and laws, and in accordance with secular law. And to this I hereby affix my signature on the form.
